Who We Are Robert G. Crockett As Director, State Government Affairs, he managed state affairs activities for the company’s North American operations, advocating the company’s public policy positions on air, water and waste regulations, forestry, energy and tax and employment policy. He has lobbied actively in Virginia, Maryland, Kentucky Pennsylvania and Tennessee. A native of South Carolina, Crockett joined Westvaco in 1987 after working in print journalism. He has been appointed to key transition responsibilities for two Virginia governors and numerous boards and commissions. While at MeadWestvaco, Crockett collaborated with numerous trade and business organizations. He received his B.A. degree in English from the University of South Carolina. Charles Hooks Prior to founding his own company, Hooks gained broad public relations experience in manufacturing, electric utilities and public affairs. He received his B.A. degree in political science from the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill. Over the years he has developed innovative and cost-effective communications solutions for a wide variety of clients, including Duke Energy, FPL Energy, the Virginia Forestry Association, Piedmont Community Health Plan, C.B. Fleet, Beta International, Crenlo, Hill-Phoenix, Belvac Production Machinery, The City of Lynchburg, Virginia’s Region 2000, Virginia’s Heartland, MeadWestvaco Corporation and Amsted Industries. |
